Description

I have been working professionally in childcare for 10 years, however my passion for working with children became apparent at the age of 13 when my first niece was born.  Since then I knew I wanted to help children to grow and develop in a fun and exciting way.

I qualified in July 2000 to level 3 and have since gained experience working with all ages from 0 - 5 years.  I was promoted to Team Leader in 2004 during which time I developed my own professional development and gained extensive knowledge and experience in various areas.  In 2007 I joined Spirit Day Care as Manager.  I have since achieved a BA (Hons) in Early Years and have, during my three years with Spirit, seen the nursery grow year on year into what I believe is a friendly, family orientated nursery where the children's welfare and learning is paramount.  I believe that children who are offered a chance to grow and develop freely with caring, knowledgable and interested staff have the best possible start in life.

I am extremely pleased to have been able to purchase Spirit's business and will continue to build upon what I have achieved as Manager.  I am committed to ensuring that Round and Round the Gardens will be an 'outstanding' provision.

In my spare time I am also a Leukaemia Care Counsellor.

Description

I have worked in business administration for 25+ years, gaining a wealth of experience and qualifications in all aspects.  I have had valuable opportunities in my career working within the overall strategic planning of company business. Incorporating Customer Services, HR and Finance in ensuring that all aspects of effective company operation are highlighted, managed and instigated.

In the early part of my career I worked in the construction industry, gaining a good knowledge of both small and corporate organisations; assisting in the efficient operation and sustainability of the business.

From 2004 I worked in the early years education industry where I have progressed through ever changing roles; with increased responsibility year on year.   I was based at Discovery Montessori School (sister nursery to Spirit Day Care) initially while working closely with all at Spirit Day Care (previous nursery on this site).  Then in 2010 when Discovery sadly closed I moved to Spirit permanently, working closely with the owner Sarah Morton and Suzanne Filson(now Dawe), the Manager, to ensure the administration, accounts and business run smoothly.

I am delighted to now be the Company Secretary of the new Limited company; R&RG Childcare Limited, set up by Suzanne Filson (now Dawe) to purchase the business of Spirit Daycare.

I have three children of my own and possess an understanding of the needs of families, their requirements and expectations for childcare.  Therefore I am fully committed to the ethos of Round and Round the Gardens to provide quality care and education for the under 5s.   I ensure that the nursery can consistantly and constantly strive for better, ultimately providing an outstanding day care provision for the local community.

In 2014 I was excited to accept the role of Deputy Manager (Maternity Cover), working closely with Suzanne, Nursery Manager and Andi, Business Manager, which is an amazing opportunity for me to explore new responsibilities and to increase my knowledge and capabilities, as well as ensuring that Round and Round the Gardens' ethos is maintained and the children remain happy in their exploration of everything that is provided.
